Todd Alan Carter, 66, Marysville, died Sunday, July 16, 2022 at his home. Visitation was from 1 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 22 at Kinsley Mortuary. The family received friends from 2 to 4 p.m. A private family service and burial at the Boone Township Cemetery in Britt, IA, will take place at a later date. Todd was born November 18, 1955 in Luverne, MN to Eugene R. and Patricia M. (Heick) Carter. He graduated in 1974 from Kanawha High School, Kanawha, IA. Todd then attended Mankato State University, Mankato, MN and NIACC in Mason City, IA. In 1979, he graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science, Dallas, TX. Todd moved to Kansas in 1988 and since 2008, he was a funeral director and embalmer for Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville and Ward Funeral Home in Washington. He enjoyed all sports, especially watching the Iowa State Cyclones, Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. He would build teams on fantasy football and collected baseball cards. Todd and his friends would attend NASCAR races at the Kansas Speedway by Kansas City. He especially loved visiting his family and spoiling his grandchildren. He would make trips to Iowa to watch their ballgames and spend time with them. Preceding him in death was his father in 1995; son, Adam Carter in 2007; and brothers-in-law, Phil Wellik and Mark Baier. Survivors include his mother, Pat Carter, Emmetsburg, IA; daughter, Andrea (Eric) Chapin, Des Moines, IA; brother, Bruce (Faith) Carter, Clear Lake, IA; sisters, Ann Baier, Alden, IA, Jane (Brian) Palmer, Emmetsburg, IA; and grandchildren, Connor Chapin, Ethan Chapin and Chloe Chapin; nephews, Calvin and Chad Carter, Lucas, Jacob and Caleb Baier and Matt and Andrew Wellik. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, 1006 Broadway, Marysville, KS 66508.
