Terry Alan Clay, 70, of Hollenberg, KS, passed away in the early morning hours on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Bryan Memorial Hospital's East Campus in Lincoln, NE.

He was born January 15, 1956, in Fairbury, NE, to Raymond and Audrey (Wilson) Clay. Defined by a strong work ethic, Terry spent many years with Union Pacific Railroad before purchasing a bar, “TC’s Place,” in Endicott, NE, and later retiring after years of dedicated service with the Landoll Corporation in Marysville, KS.

To know Terry was to experience a sharp wit and a rare, magnetic humor. Modest and unassuming, he had an effortless ability to draw people in and get everyone laughing until they were in tears. He loved life’s simple pleasures, such as going fishing and cruising the gravel roads while listening to Husker football on the radio in the fall. Above all else, however, were his granddaughters, Chloe and Sophia, who were his entire world.

He is survived by his two sons, Justin Clay and wife Jodi of Lincoln, NE, and Jeff Clay of Adams, NE; his two beloved granddaughters, Chloe and Sophia Clay; his brother, Jerry Clay and wife Melanie, and Melanie's daughter Haley, of Odell, NE; niece, Dena (Clay) Bonser and husband Matthew and family of Hanover, KS; nephew, Joseph Clay and wife Dominique and family of Beatrice, NE; as well as numerous cousins throughout western and southern Missouri and beyond, and countless friends he made along the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Audrey (Wilson) Clay; his older brothers, Ronnie Clay and Mike Clay; and his sister-in-law, Sandy Clay.

Honoring Terry’s explicit wishes, no formal services will be held. Private services with his sons and granddaughters will take place.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a contribution in Terry’s memory are encouraged to contact a local dialysis center to inquire about needed donations to support patients receiving care.

Ward Funeral Home was entrusted with handling the arrangements.
