Tamie Jo Tegethoff

Tamie Jo Tegethoff, 64, Washington, died Friday, October 23, 2026 at Belleville Healthcare and Rehab in Belleville.

Funeral services are pending.

On January 17, 1962, she was born to Forrest and Roine (Rippe) Tegethoff. She grew up in Washington and was baptized at the Washington Christian Church in 1973. Tamie was faithful to her church. In 1980, Tamie graduated from Washington High School.

She went on to work many jobs over the years including HOSS/Sears, Schoens Market, Harris Drug, Gas N Shop all in Washington. When she moved to Belleville, Tamie worked at MC, Benyshek Liquor Store, Casey’s and the Print Shop. She then spent 29 years at Scott Specialties.

The holidays were the best; Tamie loved Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter Holidays when the house was full of family, laughter and noise! She loved having and watching the littles come play and catch up with everyone.

Tamie was an avid reader and followed several mystery writers with C.J. Robb her favorite. She enjoyed counted cross stitch and inherited her mom’s green thumb for growing house plants

Tamie loved fiercely and would give anything she had to her family. She never liked showing her tender side, but it was there.

Preceding her in death were her parents; grandparents, Floyd and Lula Tegethoff and Henry and Malinda Rippe; and aunts and uncles.

Survivors include her siblings, Rick (Julie) Tegethoff,  Kelli Tegethoff of Washington, and Randy (Syri) Tegethoff, Newton; nieces and nephews, Erin Tegethoff, Ryan Strait (Jake), Ethan (Jessica Parr) Tegethoff, Lauryn (David) Tegethoff, Sport (Jerrica Bosch) Tegethoff, Libby Tegethoff and Larson Tegethoff; and great nieces and nephews, Lilly Buchli, Sophie, Remy, Kyree, Saban, Bannan, Rowan, Daxton, Wesley, Ozzy and Lakin.

A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, PO Box 157, Washington, KS 66968.
