Obituary

Ruth Meyer, 102, Linn, died Friday, April 3, 2026, at the Linn Community Nursing Home in Linn.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, with the family present at the Linn Funeral Home in Linn.

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Linn.

Pallbearers will be Jared Klewein, Kent Klewein, Eric Meyer, Zachary Meyer, Greg Meyer, and Ben Meyer. Honorary pallbearers are Shaun Ohlde, Tucker Neighbors, and Tim Reith.

Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Ruth was born on February 26, 1924, in Sylvan Grove, Kansas, to Herman and Minnie (Nagele) Steuber. On April 27, 1947, she was united in marriage to Delbert H. Meyer at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sylvan Grove. Together, they made a life on the family farm and raised five children: Karen, Randy, Debra, Delores, and Daniel.

A devoted homemaker, Ruth poured her heart into caring for her family. She was a talented seamstress, lovingly sewing clothes for her loved ones, and a gifted baker whose home-cooked meals were cherished by all. Ruth was also a master quilter, creating treasured quilts for her family and teaching quilting classes across the state of Kansas. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and playing cards.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delbert, in 2005; a grandson, Matthew Meyer; her sister and brother-in-law, Trula and Carl Gustafason; her brother, Don Steuber; and sisters-in-law, Betty and Wanda Steuber.

She is survived by her five children: Karen (Jeff) Klewein of Acworth, Georgia, Randy (Vicki) Meyer of Hereford, Arizona, Debra Meyer and Delores Meyer, both of Lawrence, Kansas, and Daniel (Jane) Meyer of Linn, Kansas. She is also survived by her brother, Neal Steuber; sister-in-law, Alice Steuber; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth will be remembered for her creativity, strength, and unwavering love for her family.

A memorial fund is established to the Linn Lutheran School, Linn Community Nursing Home or Greenleaf Public Library. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, PO Box 157, Washington, KS 66968.
