Ruth Gladys King

Ruth Gladys King, 89, born June 3, 1931 passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 at Park West Plaza, Wichita Kansas after a long battle with dementia and Covid-19. The graveside service will be at 2 PM Saturday, December 5, at the Washington City Cemetery with a viewing at 1:30. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 67 years, George King, an infant daughter Sharon Kay King, both her parents Alba and Mary Dodd, brothers Lawrence, Ralph and Perry and her sister Ruby. She is survived by five sons, Steven and wife Linda of New Albany, Indiana, Dave and wife Kathy of Johnson City, Tennessee, Dennis and wife Elena of Wichita, Kansas, Mark and wife Tina of Hillsboro, Kansas and Kevin and spouse Christopher Florence of Portland, Oregon, 11 grandchildren six great grandchildren and two more great grands on the way. Gladys will forever be remembered for her love of family, readiness for an adventure, like snowmobiling with family to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary, sewing her cherished quilts for family, volunteering at local charities and cooking incredible meals for many. Memorial funds are established for Alzheimer's & dementia and also the Union Rescue Mission of Wichita.
