Robert M. Ohlde, 86, of Linn, KS, died May 23, 2021 at the Washington County Hospital in Washington, KS. Visitation was Wednesday, May 26, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Linn. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 27 at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn. Pastor Bob Leiste will officiate. Eunice Beier is organist and the hymns are “How Great Thou Art”, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “When Peace Like a River”. The funeral will be live streamed on Ward Funeral Home’s Facebook page. Pallbearers are grandsons, Justin Ohlde, Kyler Ohlde, Levi Ohlde, Weston Ohlde, William Ohlde, Eli Ohlde, Nathan Ohlde and Philip Meinecke. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters, Jennah Ohlde and Gwen Meinecke. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Bob was born to Martin and Gertrude (Timm) Ohlde on February 23, 1935 near Palmer, KS. He was baptized March 3, 1935 at St. John’s Lutheran Church and later confirmed in his faith at Zion Lutheran Church on April 10, 1949. Bob attended Zion Lutheran School and graduated from Linn High School in 1953. On September 4, 1955, he was united in marriage to Norma Feldhausen at Zion Lutheran Church and were blessed with sixty five years of marriage. Together they started the legacy that is Ohlde Dairy and shared in the joys of raising their five children: Connie, Steve, Tim, Alan and Terry. While being a lifelong farmer, dairyman and member of Zion Lutheran Church, Bob served on several community boards including the Kansas Dairy Herd Improvement Association, Bluestem Electric Cooperative and Elk State Bank. He was also a founding member of the Washington County Rural Water District #2. Bob was an avid fisherman and golfer. He enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s activities and events, but he was most at home running the silage chopper. He is remembered for his passion to serve his Lord, family, friends, community and industry. Preceding him in death were his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Roger Gish; and daughter-in-law, Pamela Ohlde. Survivors include his wife, Norma; daughter, Connie (Ralph) Mueller, Clyde; sons, Steve (Cindi) Ohlde, Linn, Tim (Debra) Ohlde, Clyde, Alan Ohlde and Terry Ohlde, both of Linn; sisters, Margie Carr, Gladstone, MO, Nancy (Roger) Otott, Washington; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established to the Linn Lutheran School Endowment Fund or Lutheran Hour. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
