Robert “Bob” L’Ecuyer, 75, Morrowville, died Friday, February 10, 2023, at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln, NE. Visitation was from 1 until 5 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2023, at Ward Funeral Home in Washington and a rosary followed at 7 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Washington. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at St. Augustine Catholic Church and Father Joseph Kieffer officiated. The family requested casual dress to be worn. Burial was in Morrowville Cemetery, Morrowville. Bob was born to Patrick and Mary (Kieffer) L’Ecuyer on October 27, 1947 in Haddam. He attended grade school in Haddam. He never finished high school but he received his GED in 1985, the same year his oldest daughter graduated high school. He was united in marriage to Alberta Lange on January 7, 1967 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Morrowville. To this union three children were born, Donna, Dennis and Denise. Bob farmed most of his life and attended flight school. He was a crop duster and most recently operated B & B 36 Lix in Washington, which he opened in 2006. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing guitar and singing. He played at several weddings and funerals. Bob also restored and painted vehicles and tractors. He was a lifetime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and later St. Augustine Catholic Church. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, James, John, and Jerome L’Ecuyer; and sisters, Agnes Miller, Patricia Bartels, Mary LeDuc and Evelyn Wassenberg. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Alberta; children Donna Hobbs, Greenleaf, Dennis (Crystal) L’Ecuyer, Washington, and Denise (Doug) Hartwig, Marysville; ten grandchildren, Jessica (Chance) Johnson, Mary Hobbs and fiancé Jayce Schomaker, Patrick (Mollie) Hobbs, Marlyse (Tom) Goodroad, Marlin (Sara) L’Ecuyer, Malachi L’Ecuyer, Malari (Liam) Schroller, Megan (Jake) Fletcher, Drew Oldehoeft and Colin Oldehoeft; five great grandchildren, Susan Fletcher, Kessler Hobbs, Lainey Johnson, Waylon L’Ecuyer and Kenan Hobbs; brothers, Patrick (Betty) L’Ecuyer, Richard L’Ecuyer; and sisters, Martha (Frank) Nutsch and Helen (Linus) Linenberger; and a host of other relatives, friends and customer who lovingly referred to him as Uncle Bobby.
