Norman D. “Pete” Williams, 88, Washington, died May 27, 2026 at his home with his family by his side.

Visitation was Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 2 to 6 p.m., with the family present from 4 to 6 at Ward Funeral Home, Washington, KS

A funeral service was 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 1, at Ward Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Gerry Sharp officiating. Music selections were “Go Rest High on That Mountain,” Amazing Grace” and “The Old Rugged Cross.”

Pallbearers were Leland Cook, Scott Jensen, Bryce Heck, Gary Wiese, Mike Schuessler and Kevin Elder.

Burial was in the Washington City Cemetery, Washington, KS.

Pete was born April 25, 1938 in Washington to Edgar and Gertrude (Bradley) Williams. He was raised in Washington along with his three siblings, Everett, Alma and Lloyd (Jim). He attended the Bell one room school, south of Washington.

Pete later started work for Hall Brothers Construction and then for Washington County Public Works for 40 plus years. After his retirement, he worked for Charleston Township.

On July 24, 1959, he was united in marriage to Janice Waser at the United Methodist Church parsonage in Washington. They were blessed with four children, Danny David, Lisa and Denise.

Pete and Janice enjoyed vacationing throughout the United States and he enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren and attending their activities.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Janice; son, David Williams; daughter, Denise Wagner; brothers, Everett Williams and Lloyd (Jim) Williams; and granddaughter, Amanda Williams.

Survivors include children, Danny Williams, Washington, Lisa Miller, Fairbury, NE, son-in-law, Kelly Wagner, Belvidere, NE; sister, Alma Corbett, Salina; sister-in-law, Beverly Fritz, Washington; three grandchildren, Kimberly Williams, Natasha (Daryl) Workman and Sydney Miller; and three great grandchildren, Keilyn Saunders, Delaney Saunders and Grayson Williams.

A memorial fund has been established to KSDS Assistance Dog Services. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington, KS.
