Melvin OIiver

Melvin Oliver, 80, Washington, died Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the Linn Community Nursing Home in Linn.

Melvin was born on May 12, 1945 to Lloyd and Viola (Trimble) Oliver at rural Morrowville, KS. He is a graduate of Mahaska High School.

On July 14, 1965 he was married to Laurel “Lolly” Pennington at the Washington County Courthouse. To this union two children were born, Troy and Lorrie.

For over twenty years, Melvin worked at the north Veterinarian Clinic as a vet assistant. He loved to fish, do yard work and go country cruising.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Lolly; son, Troy, Clay Center; daughter, Lorrie (Frank) Jorgenson, Greenleaf; granddaughter, Ashley (Chris) Winslow, Salina; and nieces and nephews.

A private service will take place.

A memorial fund is established to be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
