Maureen A. Stigge, 74, Morrowville, KS, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the Washington County Hospital in Washington,KS.

Visitation will be January 29, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Greenleaf, KS, with a rosary service following at 7 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Father David Metz will officiate.  Craig Cox will be doing the readings. Carolyn Osborne is the organist and Olivia Gaschler the soloist.   Hymns are “Peace is Flowing Like a River,” “Ave Maria,” “O Loving God” and “Amazing Grace.”

Honorary pallbearers will be Delton Brun, Darin Brun, Trevor Sullivan, Michael Stigge, Darren True and Mark True.

Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Kimeo, KS.

Maureen was born on May 1, 1949, at Concordia, KS to Lawrence and Marcella (Hoover) Hogan.  She graduated from Linn High School and later attended Cloud County Community College.  She worked at the Washington Vet Clinic and the Washington County Hospital for many years.

On July 27, 1968, Maureen was united in marriage to Norman Stigge at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kimeo.  They were blessed with two sons, Brian and Shawn.

She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenleaf, devout in her Catholic faith.  

Family events were a favorite of Maureen’s. She loved being with her many siblings and attending her grandchildren's activities and celebrations.  She delighted in good music, good books and all things Irish.  Maureen will be remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, who enjoyed a good laugh and spending time with her family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Michael; and infant brother, Lynn Joseph.

Survivors include her husband, Norman; sons, Brian (Lauren) Stigge and Shawn (Christy) Stigge; grandchildren, Otto, Leora, Elaina, Elsie and Nora; and siblings, Kevin (Debbie) Hogan, Marcia (Howard) Brun, Agnes (Gary) Sullivan, Johanna Rogers(David P), Loretta (Edwin) Rahe, Monica Kruse, Theresa (Craig) Cox, Ursula (Lynn) Hewitt, John (DeDe) Hogan and Stephen (Tina) Hogan; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund is established to St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.  Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington, KS.
