Kenneth Francis Rieth, 86, Washington, died Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the Washington County Hospital in Washington.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2024 at Ward Funeral Home in Washington.

A rosary service will be Monday, April 22 at 7 p.m., at St, Augustine Catholic Church.

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 23 at St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Burial will follow the service in Washington City Cemetery.

Kenneth was born September, 21, 1937 in Hanover, KS to Frank and Clara  (Siebenhaar) Rieth. He attended school in Hanover and in 1960 entered the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1966.  On April 8, 1972, he was united in marriage to Barbara Gielser at St. John Catholic Church in Hanover.  This union was blessed with six children.

Kenneth was a farmer and drove a truck for LeDuc Milk Hauling.  He was a member of St.  Augustine Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He served on the Hanover Coop Board and the St. Augustine Parish Council.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Danielle Rieth; grandson, Tyler Rieth, great grandson, Leo Hasenkamp; parents-in-law, Wallace and Mabel Giesler; brothers, Dwayne Rieth, Bernard Rieth, Arnold Rieth and Garold Rieth; sister, Rosella Heier; brothers-in-law, Bill Parker, Phil Heier, Vern Duncan and Norman Giesler; and   sisters-in-law, Ruth Duncan and Trudy Rieth.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Barb Rieth; children, Lee (Kate) Rieth, Washington, Alice (Larry) Stoker, Ottawa, Lisa (Doug Zimmerman) Rieth, Grainfield, Alan (Janet) Rieth, Washington and Christina (Earren) Sporing, Texhoma, OK; sisters Virginia Parker, Linn, Marcella Rieth, Hanover; and sisters-in-law, Betty Rieth, Washington and Cheryl Rieth, Hanover; thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established to St. Augustine Catholic Church or Linn Community Nursing Home.   Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington, KS.
