Justin L. Hiltgen

Justin Lee Hiltgen, 44, Graniteville, CA, died February 23, 2022 at UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA. Graveside funeral service is planned for March 19, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Kimeo, KS. Father Joseph Kieffer will officiate. Justin was born October 29, 1977 at Hanover, KS to Robert J and Ruth (Shaw) Hiltgen. He attended grade school in Barnes and Linn and in 1996, graduated from Linn High School. After high school, he attended KU and K-State. Justin enjoyed performing in plays at the Columbian Theatre and TPAC. He had a passion for cooking for others and working in different restaurants. The past few years, Justin has lived in the mountains and enjoyed hiking and exploring. He also would pan for gold. He is preceded in death by his sister Kara; grandparents, Robert Hiltgen and Merel and Dorothy (Diederich) Shaw. Survivors include his parents; sister, Shannon (Kevin) Height; niece, Makenzie; partner, Anthony Saunders; grandmother, Gloria (Depew) Hiltgen; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
