Jimmie Jerome Cordry, 77, died on November 8, 2020. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Ward Funeral Home, Washington. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12 at Ward Funeral Home, Washington, KS. Pallbearers are Justin Cordry, Dean Dittmer, Steven Dittmer, James Dittmer, Shawn Dittmer and David Remmers. Honorary pallbearers are George Kisby, Steve Kisby, Mike Beikman, Dennis Alexander, Steve Jackson and Josh Mueller. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery, north of Clifton. Jim is survived by his wife Mary of 27 years; son Justin Cordry of Washington; stepsons Dean (Debbie) Dittmer of Bennett, CO, Steven Dittmer of Haddam, James (Teresa) Dittmer of Topeka, Shawn Dittmer of Agenda; stepdaughter Barbara (David) Remmers of Hebron, NE; brother Richard (Fran) Cordry of Mount Laurel, NJ; sisters Carolyn Larson of Clyde, Rose (Alvin) Tremblay of Concordia; 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Estelle (West) Cordry; brother-in-law Paul Larson; infant granddaughter, Haley Cordry; and infant stepson, Kevin Dittmer. Jim was born November 25, 1942 in Concordia, KS to Marion and Estelle (West) Cordry. He was a 1960 graduate of Clifton School and a member of the Kansas Army National Guard. Jim helped his parents farm and raise cattle. He worked for ABB, Mellies Products and Titan West as a welder along with helping local farmers and others with planting and harvest or whenever he was needed. Jim was a member of the Clifton Legion. Jim loved the Kansas State Fair, where he worked as a Security Guard for 32 years. He loved seeing all of the people. It was like an extended Family Reunion. In Jim’s free time he loved to watch old westerns and sports on TV. Jim was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to everyone.
