Jeffrey “Ode” Lehman, 56, of Washington, Kan., died March 2, 2019 at the Washington County Hospital. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Washington. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 7, at the Morrowville Christian Church. Ron Brown will officiate. The pallbearers will be Terry Hauschel, Wylie Pumarlo, Brett Lehman, Randall Hevelone, Richie Hill, Chad Moore, Craig Fencl and Jim Elwood. The honorary pallbearers will be Rick Samland, David Aufdengarten, Larry Moore, Larry Quackenbush and Chris Atkins. Burial will be in the Morrowville Cemetery. Jeff was born August 21, 1962 in Washington, Kan., the son of Robert “Bobby” and Jean (Ginn) Lehman. In 1980, he graduated from North Central High School in Morrowville. While attending high school, Jeff helped his Grandpa Ginn on the farm. After graduating he worked for Nick Zenger, The Morrowville Elevator, Endicott Clay, J-Six Farms, Orschelns, J&N Elliott Construction and helped several area farmers. On August 27, 2001, he married Gidget Bernard at the Washington County Courthouse. Jeff was involved with 4-H, Morrowville Lions Club, Morrowville Fire Department, and took part in “Woo Pig” Days. In his younger days he enjoyed playing on a men’s slow pitch softball team, town team basketball, and in a dart league. Later in life, Jeff enjoyed going to rodeos and spending time at the lake with a couple buddies. He was very active in “spoiling” his three grandkids! Jeff collected hats, shot glasses, anything John Deere and K-State memorabilia. He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Lehman; mother-in-law, Melva Bernard; grandparents, Marvin and Ruth Ginn and Herman and Christina Lehman; and special aunt, Joyce Fitzgerald. Survivors include his wife, Gidget; daughter, Natosha (Randall) Hevelone, Morrowville; mother, Jean Lehman, Morrowville; sister, Tammy (Craig) Fencl, Morrowville; and three grandchildren, Charlotte, Abagail and Raymond; and nieces, nephews, family and friends. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
