Gerald "Jerry" L. Alldredge

Gerald Lee Alldredge, 68, Washington, died Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Washington County Hospital. A private service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 21 at the Washington Fire Department. Jerry was born to Perry K. and Velma (Kern) Alldredge on April 30, 1952 at Steele City, NE. He attended Emma’s Country School before moving to Washington. He graduated from Washington High School. On August 23, 1970, he was united in marriage to Janice Lynette Westing in Washington. The couple moved to Beloit where Jerry farmed. Their daughter JoAnn was born while living there. In July 1972, Jerry joined the Marines and was stationed at Camp LeJuene, where their son Jeremy was born. They moved back to Washington in 1978 and in 1980 opened the Coffee Shop Bakery, which they operated until 1996. Jerry was a Scout Master of Troop 86 and went on many outings with the scouts. He was a former President of the Chamber of Commerce, was honored as citizen of the year, was heavily involved with the fire department and served as the chief. He was active in the Marine Corps League, CERT, LEPC, and support groups. But his most important honor was being Santa for over twenty years. Preceding him in death were his parents; grandparents; and son, Jeremy. Survivors include his wife, Janice; daughter, JoAnn Alldredge; grandson, Jason Geffert; sister, Connie (Gaylord) Koch; brothers, Jim (Cindy) Alldredge, Larry Alldredge, Don (Sandy) Alldredge, Randy (Wendy) Alldredge; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial fund is established to Washington Fire and Rescue. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
