Dennis Edward Huber

Dennis Edward Huber, 55, Morrowville, lost his battle with cancer, March 19, 2018 at his brother’s home in Morrowville with his brother, Charles and sister, Mary, by his side.Visitation was held from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, March 22 at Ward Funeral Home, Washington.  The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m.A funeral service was held 10 a.m., Friday, March 23 at the Morrowville Christian Church, Morrowville.  Rev. Ron Brown officiated.  Gina Miller was organist and accompanied Father Joseph Kieffer as he sang “In The Garden” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus".The pallbearers were Paul Huber, Mary Poe, James Huber, Charles Huber, Richard Huber and Dewayne Rose.The honorary pallbearers were Jesse Huber, Orin Huber, Travis Huber, Ryan Howard, Eric Bray, Robert Helms, Adam Huber and Tyler Rose.Burial was in the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery north of Morrowville.  Father Joseph Kieffer officiated the committal service.Dennis was born to Harold and Frieda (Riddle) Huber in Fairbury, Neb., on October 13, 1962.  He grew up on a rural Mahaska farm and was a graduate of North Central High School.Dennis was a quiet man around most people, but family and friends knew him to be quick-witted with a somewhat devilish sense of humor.  He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.  Dennis spent most of his life farming and in his free-time he did woodworking, making lamps, clocks, baseball bars and other such items to give as gifts to family and friends.  He even bought a saw mill to cut his own wood.Dennis started trucking in the last few years and enjoyed the friendships formed and the sites seen from it.Preceding him in death were his grandparents; a brother, Sammy.Survivors include his parents; five brothers, Paul (Tina) Huber, Freeport, Tex., James Huber, Thompson, Neb., Charles (Lori) Huber, Morrowville, Richard Huber and Larry Huber, both of Mahaska; sister, Mary Poe, Katy, Tex.; and nephews, Adam Huber, Paul Huber, Bradley Nelson, Travis Huber, Kyle Boston, Jesse Huber and Orin Huber; and nieces, Abby Castellanos, Heather Huber, Angelia Boland, Nicole Boston and Hallie Wilson.A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
