Bernadette L'Ecuyer, 91, Haddam, died Monday, November 9, 2020 at the Washington County Hospital. Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m., Friday, November 13, 2020 at Ward Funeral Home Washington. A vigil service will be 7 p.m., Friday, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Washington. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, November 14, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. The funeral will be live streamed on our Ward Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, north of Morrowville. Bernadette was born June 29, 1929 at Delta, UT to Francis and Agnes (Nutsch) Reedy. At the age of three, they moved to the Washington County Area, where she grew up. On October 10, 1951, Bernadette was united in marriage to John H. L’Ecuyer at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. They settled in the Haddam area, after he left the Army and lived on the farm fotheir 49 years together. Bernadette was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and St. Augustine Catholic Church. She belonged to the Altar Society, volunteered at Hearts and Things and loved to do embroidery. She was strong in her faith and daily prayed the Rosary. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John in 2000; daughters, Monica Dusin, Julianna Bell; son, Michael L’Ecuyer; and siblings, Phyllis James, Leonard Reedy and Clifford Reedy. Survivors include sons, Daniel (Deanna) L’Ecuyer, Morrowville, Francis “Shorty” (Christine) L’Ecuyer, Haddam, Reginald L’Ecuyer, Colwich, Mark (Renee) L’Ecuyer, Columbia, SC; daughters, Christina L’Ecuyer, Washington, Margaret L’Ecuyer, Beatrice, Paula L’Ecuyer, Washington, DC, Susan L’Ecuyer, Port of Spain Trinidad and Tabago, Victoria L’Ecuyer, Wamego; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A memorial fund is established to the St. Peter and Paul Cemetery Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
