LaVern Rahe

Linn - LaVern William Rahe, 80, died Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Linn Community Nursing Home. LaVern was born on April 9, 1926 at Linn to Edward and Hulda (Meyer) Rahe. LaVern was a lifelong farmer and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the American Legion. LaVern was united in marriage to Ella Lohmeyer on June 20, 1953 at Greenleaf. Ella preceded him in death May 22, 1998. He was also preceded by his parents; brothers, Norman, Lester and Richard Rahe; and sisters, Elva Rahe and Alice Spreer. LaVern is survived by son, Jim Rahe and wife Deanna, Greenleaf; daughters, Lois Thompson, Wichita, Kathy Lower and husband Ronald, Valentine, NE, Janis Milam and husband William, Summerville SC; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Leonard Rahe and wife Peggy, Hiawatha, Edwin Rahe and wife Loretta, Topeka, Wilmer Rahe and wife Cora, Hiawatha, Raymond Rahe and wife Carol, Linn; sisters Marilyn Wiese and husband LeRoy, Linn, Mary Lange, Hutchison, and Nola McAffee, Somerset, PA. Funeral Service will be held, 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Greenleaf. Pastor David Gruoner will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name and will be designated by the family. Ward Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
