Grace P. Long, age 88 of Washington, Kansas, died September 3, 2006 at the Homestead Nursing Home in Washington. She was born December 11, 1917 at Table Rock, Nebraska, the daughter of Cecil and Florence Applegarth Nutter. Grace was a member of the First Christian Church in Washington. She was united in marriage to Lonzo Long Jr. on January 11, 1938 at Seneca, Kansas. To this union three children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Florence Nutter; her husband, Lonzo on January 18, 1989; two brothers Dwayne and Kenneth Nutter; one sister, Phyllis Graham. Grace is survived by two sons, LeRoy Long and wife Donna of Washington, Kansas and Gary Long and wife Lucie of Omaha, Nebraska; one daughter, Patty Gauby and husband Lyle of Salina, Kansas; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ward Funeral Home in Washington with Reverend John Frey officiating. Interment will be held at the Washington City Cemetery. A memorial has been established. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2006 from 8:00 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m. at the Ward Funeral Home in Washington. Services conducted by Ward Funeral Home.
