Mildred M. Schuessler, 92, died Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at her home. She was born on May 8, 1914 at Haddam, KS to Bert and Edna (Wilson) Allen. Mildred was united in marriage to Thomas A. Schuessler on August 7, 1934 in Hanover. They were blessed with three children, Patricia, Steven and Michael. The Schuessler’s farmed and lived their life in Washington County. Mildred was a homemaker and a former member of Rock Dorcus Club. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas on March 23, 1975; brother, Donald “Bud” Allen on June 3, 1996; and her parents. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia James, Holton; sons, Steven Schuessler and wife JoAnn, Hutchinson, Michael Schuessler and wife Kim, Washington; brother, Dean Allen, Haddam; sister in law Eunice Allen, Morrowville, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Funeral service for Mildred was held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Ward Funeral Home, Washington. Pastor John Frey officiated. Burial was in the Washington City Cemetery. Her casket bearers were Nathan Schuessler, Chad Gallentine, Heath Allen, Tyler Zenger, Brett James and Christopher James. A memorial has been established in her name to be designated at a later time. Ward Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
