Ella C. Reith

Ella Clara Hilda Reith, 87, died Saturday, August 12, 2006 at the Linn Community Nursing Home, Linn. She was born March 4, 1919 at Strawberry Township, KS to Herman and Alwina (Kuhlman) Peters. Ella was united in marriage to Paul G. Reith, May 30, 1942 in Fairbury, NE. They lived in Palmer for several years while Paul worked for Reith Hardware. Ella worked at the creamery in Linn until it closed the worked for the Linn Community Nursing Home, retiring in 1984. She also did sewing for family, made many quilts for children and grandchildren, baby quilts for Wichita Children’s Home, World Relief quilts, did mending and made bibs/lap robes/restraints for nursing homes. Ella loved tending her flowers, fixings things, baking and cooking for her family, visiting her children, grand children and great grandchildren. Ella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Paul in 1985; a daughter, Janet; three brothers, Walter, Albert and Emil Peters; sisters, Lydia Seimsen and Martha Boerger. She is survived by daughters, JoAnn Wilgers and husband Wendell, Palmer, Ruth Lange and husband Larry, Marion;a sister in law, Mildred Peters, Linn; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral service for Ella will be held, Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Pastor David Gruoner will officiate. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Casket bearers are James Wilgers, Wade Wilgers, Rick Lange, Chad Ellis, Jason Jones, Joel Wilgers, Robert Jones, and Ryan Jones. A memorial fund has been established to the Linn Community Nursing Home or the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Ward Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
