Kaden Lawrence Clark, 4, of Barnes, KS, was called home to his heavenly Father Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Children's Hospital in Omaha, NE. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 3, at Immanuel Lutheran Church west of Linn. Rev. Richard Rikli officiated. The organist was Barbara Ruhnke and the soloists were Marilyn Rogers and Kayleen Laflen. Music included “I Am Jesus Little lamb”, “Little Toy Trains”, “Nearer My God To Thee” and “Go My Children With My Blessing”. The readers were Chris Wilkens, Lydia Hiesterman, Rachael Bargdill, Jessica Turk, Kimberly Schaffer, Adena Wollenburg and Cammie Hiesterman. The pallbearers were Garry Clark, Daniel Hiesterman, Eric Schaffer, Jeremy Olson, Cody Bryan and Matthew Moseler. The honorary pallbearers were Hannah Link, Lilah Link, Garrett Link, Tanner Link, Marissa Crevier, Gunner Turk, Gavin Turk, Gabe Turk, Geni Turk, Adalee Bargdill, Chad Bargdill, Timothy Torske, Lola Torske, William Olson, Elizabeth Olson, Jacob Wollenburg, Laney Clark, Katie Clark, Ashley Clark, Landon Palumbo, Dalton Deneke, Mason Deneke, Teagan Ellenz and Taylor Ellenz. Burial was in the church cemetery. Kaden was born March 17, 2005, at Overland Park, KS, the son of Kevin and Laura (Hiesterman) Clark. He became a child of God through baptism July 3, 2005, at Emmaus Lutheran Church, Bonner Springs by Pastor Gaylen Burrow. His sponsors were Daniel Hiesterman and Jackie Clark. Kaden loved learning, reading books, swimming, playing outside & dancing. He was an eager student at the TLEC pre-school in Greenleaf, KS. Rides on the 4-wheeler with his dad were his favorite but any kind of motorized vehicle would get him excited. When no motor was available he would often make motor noises complete with shifting of gears. He loved to take 6 mile long walks on summer evenings with his mom & Daisy their dog. Kaden spoke softly most of the time but had much to say. He loved deeply & enthusiastically. Kaden was preceded in death by second cousins, Tyler Clark & Baily Clark. Survivors include his parents Kevin & Laura; grandparents, Ernest & Cindy Hiesterman of Barnes, Ronald & Darlene Clark of Clay Center, KS; aunts & uncles, Jeremy & Kate Olson of Palmer, KS, Daniel & Lydia Hiesterman of rural Washington, KS, Jackie Clark of Manhattan, KS; two cousins, William & Elizabeth Olson; great-grandparents, Elsie Hiesterman of Linn, Norma and Sweeney Megenity of Barnes, Donald and Wanda Clark of Beloit, KS; as well as numerous friends & extended family. Memorials will benefit the TLEC Preschool at Greenleaf or go towards play ground equipment at the Odd Fellows Park in Barnes. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
