Raymond E. Beikman, 79, of Linn, Kan., died Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Linn Community Nursing Home. Visitation was Thursday, March 1, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Linn. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m.A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 2, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Palmer. Rev. Tom Sahl and Jim Winter officiated. Kris Nelson played the organ while the congregation sang “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”.The honorary pallbearers were Lilly Beikman, LeAnne Beikman, Johnathan Bott, Rachel Bott, Maggie Bott, Elizabeth Bott, Addison Figge, Brianna Figge, Sophia Figge, Carrie Cummings, Katelyn Cummings, Brady Beikman and Carter Beikman.Burial was in the Palmer Cemetery.Raymond was born at rural Palmer on September 8, 1938 to Herman and Esther (Schaaf) Beikmann. He was baptized September 11, 1938 and confirmed April 6, 1952 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Linn. He attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School and Linn and Clifton High School. On November 12, 1961, he was united in marriage to Muriel Winter at St. Paul’s Lutheran, Palmer. Raymond helped on the farm before serving in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged in 1967. Raymond worked at Palmer Grain for many years and farmed around Palmer. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Linn American Legion. Raymond enjoyed his work and watching NASCAR. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Muriel in 1995; brother, Ralph Beikmann; and sister, Alma Beikmann. Survivors include daughters, Kayleen (Doug) Bott, Palmer, Susan (Nathan) Figge, St. Mary’s, Brenda Cummings, Topeka; sons, Tim (Darci) Beikman, Mulvane, Gary (Regina) Beikman, Norton; brother, Edwin (Nancy) Beikmann, Linn; sister-in-law, Mildred Beikmann, Linn; brother-in-law, Reynold Schaaf, Linn; and thirteen grandchildren. A memorial fund is established and will be designated by the family later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
