Rose Burton Deines, 97, Washington, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2009 at Homestead Nursing Home in Washington, Ks. Graveside Memorial service will be held at a later date. Rose was born September 9, 1912 in Washington County to Marcus & Mary Johnson Burton. She attended Blocker Grade School graduating in 1929 from Haddam High School. Rose married Floyd (Mike) Deines on October 29, 1931 and to this union, three children were born: George, Margaret & Deanna. They lived in the Blocker Community until they moved to Haddam. Rose belonged to the Eastern Star Chapter at Haddam and the Flower Club for many years. Rose was known for her love of flowers and her ability to grow them. Later in her life, she pursued her interest in genealogy. She lived in Washington County 95 of her 97 years. She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Halderman and husband Dave of Sedan, Kansas and Deanna Bradshaw and husband Tom of Baton Rouge, LA, Eight grandchildren, Ten great grandchildren, One great-great grandchild and one great, great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, son George, her parents, and three brothers, Raymond, Ivan & Jewell Burton and one sister, Florence Barrows.
