Arnold H. Beier, 85,died Sunday, February 11, 2018 at his home. Visitation is Thursday, February 15, from 2 to 8 p.m., at Ward Funeral Home in Linn. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service is 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 16, at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn. Pastor David Gruoner will officiate. Jared Hatesohl is organist and the congregation will sing " Because He Lives," "Great is Thy Faithfulness," "When Peace Like a River" and "The Old Rugges Cross." Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Beier, Bradley Beier, Brian Beier, Ryan Corey, Owen Corey, Trent Beier, Payton Lotspeich and Joshua Corey. Honorary pallbearers are Brooke Beier, Natalie Corey, Megan Beier, Shay Beier, and Brianna Beier. Burial is in Zion Lutheran Cemetery Arnold Harry Beier was born on April 8, 1932 to Emil Beier and his wife Alvina (Karcher) Beier of Perry, OK. Arnold was baptized on July 31, 1932 at Zion Lutheran Church, Perry, OK by the Rev. J. Krueger and was confirmed on October 7, 1945 at Zion under the Rev. E. Arnold. Arnold attended grade school at Red Rock, OK. He served his country from 1952-1954 as a member of the U.S. Army. Upon his return, Arnold and his brother Emil, Jr. ran a filling station in Perry, OK and farmed together. On August 14, 1965 Arnold was united in marriage to Eunice Fields at Christ Lutheran Church, Perry, OK by the Rev. E. F. Lange. They moved to rural Linn in 1967 to farm. They were blessed with four children, Matthew, Bradley, Brian and Katherine. Arnold served in various offices at Immanuel Lutheran Church and later at Zion Lutheran Church, both of Linn, KS. He also served on the Strawberry Township board for a number of years and the Clifton Co-op Board. After retirement in 2006, the couple moved to Linn in 2011 where they had built a new home. Arnold enjoyed playing cards and was a member of a local card club. He was happiest spending time with his family. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Rudolph Beier, Edward Beier, Emil Beier, Jr. and sisters Leona Musick-Rice, Lillian Jones, Lorene Loveless, Marlene Oltmanns and infant sister Marjorie. He is survived by his wife Eunice, of the home, sons Matthew (Ashley) of Ripon, CA, Bradley (Kelley) of Clifton, KS and Brian of Abilene, KS, daughter Katherine (Ryan) Corey of Prairie Village, KS, 9 grandchildren, brothers-in-law Karl Oltmanns of Stillwater, OK and Roy Jones of Oklahoma City, OK and sister Carol (John) Fuxa of Celina, TX and numerous nephews and nieces.
