Dean B. Cox, 93, of Haddam, KS, died September 30, 2017 at Cedarwood Assisted Living in Fairbury, NE. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 4, at the Morrowville Christian Church, Morrowville.  Pastor Ron Brown officiated.  Sheila Ouellette accompanied Ed Durst as he sang "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace." Pallbearers were Bill Slater, Jom Frager, Todd Baker, Terry Frager, Gerry Frager, Willard Zenger and Charles Mosteller.  Honorary Pallbearers were Steve Frager, Bob Tegethoff and Jonathan Terpening.Burial will be in the Haddam City Cemetery. Dean was born July 9, 1924 at Haddam, son of Carl and Hattie (Bellinger) Cox. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On July 12, 1952, he married Lena Seballoz. She preceded him in death in 1963. Two children were born to this union. In April 1970, he married Eileen Terpening. They were married for 47 years. She survives. Dean farmed in the Haddam area. He also drove a milk truck, was a longtime bus driver, and worked at the Washington Sale Barn. He enjoyed playing pitch and other card games, gardening, and woodworking. He was a past member of the Haddam American Legion. Other survivors include his sons, Harold (Teresa) Terpening, Abilene, KS, and David (Faye) Cox, Seward, NE; daughter, Joyce (Don) Shutts, DeWitt, NE; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena; parents; daughter, Shari Cox Bibler; and granddaughter, Carol Terpening. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.
