Marvin Stuenkel, 100, Linn, died Friday, April 14 at the Linn Community Home. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 18 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Palmer. Pastor Jacob Sherry officiated. Sheila Stuenkel was organist and the congregation sang "He's Risen! He's Risen!," "Wake, Awake, for Night is Flying," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers were Duane Dahm, John Helms, Wayne Helms, Gene Braun, Armin Blanken and Donald Mueller. Burial was in the church cemetery. Marvin was born at rural Linn on April 9, 1917 to Harry and Pauline (Blanken) Stuenkel. He was baptized on April 15, 1917 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. He attended school up to the eighth grade and was a lifelong farmer. Marvin was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Palmer. Survivors include his sisters, Lavera Helms, Lula Stuenkel, both of Linn; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; and sisters, Velma Braun, Sylvia Stuenkel, Ruth Mueller and Cecelia Dahm. A memorial fund has been established to the Lutheran Heritage Fund.
