Martha Fahsholtz, 104, of Linn, KS, died Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Linn Community Nursing Home. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, at Ward Funeral Home in Linn. A funeral service was at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 8, at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn. Pastor David Gruoner officiated. Eunice Beier was organist and the Congregation sang "Let Us Walk with Jesus," "Silent Night" and "Abide With Me." Pallbearers were Alan Herrs, Kevin Herrs, Jerry Monasmith Jr.,Joel Monasmith, Bruce Fahsholtz, Scott Fahsholtz, Greg Hardin and Oren Holle. Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Burial was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Linn. Martha was born September 1, 1912 at Linn, KS to L.W. and Minnie (Facklam) Lohmeyer. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Linn. In 1932, she graduated from Linn Rural High School. On April 25, 1937, she married George G. Fahsholtz. To this union three children were born, Lowell, Janie and Nancy. George and Martha were farmers. While raising her family, Martha tended chickens, gardened and canned. She also enjoyed baking and sewing for her family. Martha was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, a member of the Busy Hour Club, church choir, and LWML. Survivors include her children, Lowell Fahsholtz, Firth, NE, Janie Beikmann, Linn, Nancy (Jerry) Monasmith, Topeka; brother, Arnold Lohmeyer; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; sister, Lenora Lohmeyer; two brothers, Herman and Eugene Lohmeyer; daughter-in-law, Ladonna Fahsholtz; and two sons-in-law, LeRoy Herrs and Willard Beikmann. A memorial fund has been established to the Zion Lutheran Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, P.O. Box 157, Washington, KS 66968.
