Ruth E. Mueller

Ruth E. Mueller, 95, of Linn, KS, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Linn Community Nursing Home. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 22, at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn. Rev. David Gruoner officiated. Eunice Beier played the organ while the congregation sang “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”, "How Great Thou Art”, and “Amazing Grace”. The pallbearers were Eric Helms, Jason Helms, Joshua Helms, Clinton Helms, Nathan Helms, Nicolaus Helms, Robert Mueller, and Weston Mueller. Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, west of Linn. On October 16, 1921, Ruth was born to Harry and Pauline (Blanken) Stuenkel at rural Linn, Kansas. She attended school up to the 8th grade at St. John Lutheran School, Palmer. Ruth was baptized on October 23, 1921 and confirmed on April 14, 1935 at St. John Lutheran Church. Ruth was united in marriage to Clarence Mueller on June 1, 1947 at St. John Lutheran church. They lived on a farm west of Palmer and after retiring they moved to Linn. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and when she moved, she became a member of Zion Lutheran. Ruth was a member of the LWML, Ladies Aide, the choir and taught Sunday school. Quilting, crocheting, sewing and cooking were some of her favorite things to do. She also raised a garden and helped with the cattle. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Clarence in 2003; sisters, Velma Braun, Sylvia Stuenkel; two infant daughters, Marjorie and Annette; and a great grandson, Ethan Villasenor. Survivors include her children, Alice (Roger) Helms, Palmer, Robert (Karen) Mueller, Palmer, Ralph (Connie) Mueller, Linn and Donald Mueller, Palmer; brother, Marvin Stuenkel, Linn; sisters, Cecilia Dahm, Clay Center, LaVera Helms, and Lula Stuenkel, both of Linn; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
