Donna R. Meyerhoff, of Palmer, KS, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. She was blessed with 75 years. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 10, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Palmer. Rev. Gene Holtorf officiated. Shelia Stuenkel played the organ while the congregation sang "How Great Thou Art", "Nearer My God To Thee" and "Abide With Me". Pallbearers were Pat Damman, Tim Frawley, Steve Struber, Loren Mueller, Gene Stunkel, and Kurtis Bargman. Honorary pallbearers were Clayton Meyerhoff, Kevin Meyerhoff, Kyle Bruna, Ashley Bruna and Haley Bruna. Burial was in the church cemetery. On July 8th, 1934, the Lord blessed William Struber and his wife Emma Damman Struber of Palmer, KS, with the gift of an infant daughter whom they named Donna Ruth. She was baptized into the saving faith of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on July 15, 1934, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Palmer, by the Rev. H.A. Kolm. Donna attended St. John’s Lutheran School at Palmer and Zion Lutheran at Linn. She confirmed her faith in Jesus Christ in the rite of Confirmation March 15th, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church, Linn, by Rev. W.G. Biel. She graduaed Linn High School in 1952. On August 14, 1955, she was united in marriage to Lowell Meyerhoff at Zion Lutheran Church, by Rev. W.G.Biel. Three children were born to this union; Keith, Kevin and Melodee. Donna spent her entire life in the Palmer area. She was a cook at Linn High School for 18 years, a clerk and Postmaster in Palmer for 25 years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran church and LWML. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kevin, on March 10, 1989; one brother, Emil; and one sister, Amanda. Survivors include her husband, Lowell; one son, Keith Meyerhoff of Palmer, KS; one daughter, Melodee Bruna of Marysville, KS; five grandchildren, Clayton and Kevin Meyerhoff, Kyle, Ashley and Haley Bruna; two sisters, Amelia Hiesterman and Eileen Meyer of Ft, Collins, CO; two sister-laws, Irma Damman and husband Jerald, and Beryl Beeson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
