Marcele M. Harry

Marcele M. Harry, 94, of Wichita, KS, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at her home in Wichita. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, February 8 at Ward Funeral Home in Washington. Pastor Sandra Jellison-Knock officiated. The song "Angels Among Us" was played. Burial was in the Agenda Cemetery. Marcele was born on April 5, 1921 at Agenda, KS to Ralph and Millie (Byrd) Kramer. She graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1940. She married Whitman Harry. They later divorced. Marcele worked as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell for 40+ years in Wichita retiring in the mid 80’s. Marcele loved animals and raised and sold puppies. Raising flowers, bird watching and cooking were some of her favorite pastimes. She also liked attending class reunions and spending holidays with family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Millie (Byrd) Kramer; two brothers, infant George Henry Kramer and Donald D. Kramer; and a sister, Maxine Bower. Survivors include her son, DeWitt Harry, Wichita; grandchildren, Chris Harry and Vicky (Chris) Pace; two great grandchildren, all of Wichita; brother, Loren (Velda) Kramer, Smith Center, KS; and two sisters, Lorene Carlson, Manhattan, KS, and Betty O'Grady, Yankton, SD.
