Leora "Babe" Green

Leora Faye "Babe" Green 90, formerly of Greenleaf, died January 16, 2016 at Vian Nursing and Rehab, Vian, OK. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 23 at Ward Funeral Home in Greenleaf, KS. Visitation was held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial was in Mound Cemetery south of Barnes, KS. Babe was born at rural Linn, KS on August 4, 1925 to George and Florence (Mickle) Wallace. On September 1, 1944, she was united in marriage to Francis “Brownie” Green at Atchison. Babe was a bookkeeper and managed the Greenleaf Lumberyard with her husband, Brownie. They later opened the Elite Café in 1994 and retired from there in 2000. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Brownie in 2008; brothers, Lowell Wallace, Leroy "Pete” Wallace; and sister, Vivian Stelljes. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
