Alfred Louis William Luhring

Alfred Louis William Luhring, 90, died Friday, March 17, 2006 at the Linn Community Nursing Home, Linn. He was born on April 30, 1915 to Henry H. and Augusta H. (Peters) Luhring. Alfred was a life long farmer in the Hollenberg area. On August 21, 1940 he was united in marriage to Emma Fritzler at the Zion Stateline Lutheran Church, Hollenberg. They were blessed with five daughters. Emma preceded him in death, July 12, 1976. Alfred was united in marriage to Alma Gassert on May 19, 1979. She preceded him in death, April 7, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Charlotte Luhring; brother, Clarence Luhring; and four sisters, Minnie Hennerberg, Verna Long and Ella Stewart and Tena Asch. Alfred is survived by four daughters, Carol Foster and husband Vernon, Topeka, Donna Rothell and husband Steve, Tecumseh, NE, Ilene Thompson and husband Tom, Helena, MT, and Karen Luhring, Tulsa, OK; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral service for Alfred was held Wednesday, March 22, 2006, 10:00 am at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Washington. Pastor Richard Reumann officiated. Burial was in Washington City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Norman Foster, Darrell Foster, Rodney Eisenbarth, Brad Eisenbarth, Brandon Hennerberg, and Jerry Hennerberg. Honorary casket bearers were Lyle Hennerberg, Ervin Hennerberg, Delbert Long, Dale Brenneis, Howard Perkins, Ernie Wollenberg, Russell Foster, Frank Rothell, and Roger Foster.
