Paulina Riekenberg, 103, Linn, died Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Centennial Homestead Nursing Home, Washington. A funeral service was 2:30 p.m., Thursday, October 15 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Palmer, KS. Rev. Jacob Sherry officiated. Sheila Stuenkel was organist and the congregation sang “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”, “Be Still My Soul”, and “Abide With Me.” Visitation was one hour prior to service time at the church. Pallbearers were Matt Ohlde, Josh Ohlde, Dennis Riekenberg, Larry Riekenberg, Jim Hornbostel, Harland Riekenberg and Dennis Peters. Burial was in the church cemetery. Paulina was born July 9, 1912, near Linn, the daughter of Fred and Emilie (Hornbostel) Riekenberg. She was baptized July 14, 1912, by the Rev. G.B. Keller. She attended St. John’s Parochial School near Palmer and Lupher Grade School. Paulina was confirmed March 28, 1926 by Rev. Keller. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Palmer. Paulina was a homemaker and lived on the farm all her life with her twin brother Paul. Preceding her in death were her parents; and eight brothers, Arnold, Ernst, Fred, Ludwig, Reinhardt, Robert, Rudolf and her twin, Paul. Paulina is survived by nieces and nephews.
