Margery R. Doebele, 82, died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Washington County Hospital. Visitation was from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, October 6 at Ward Funeral Home, Washington. Rosary service was 7 p.m., Tuesday, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Washington. Mass of Christian Burial was 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, St. Augustine Catholic Church. Fr. David Metz officiated. Sheila Ouellette was organist and the hymns were "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art" and "On Eagles Wings." Pallbearers were Gary Ouellette, Jim Ouellette, Jerry Ouellette, Robert Bledsoe, David Bledsoe and Mitchell Meyer. Burial was in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Hanover. Margery was born February 7, 1933 at Linn, KS to Delphos E. and Amanda (Struber) Ouellette. She graduated from Linn High School and Beloit Vo-Tech in Business. In 1951, Marge married George Herda at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenleaf. They had two daughters, Cindy and Blanche. Marge and George later divorced. While she and George were married, they were stationed in French Morocco, Africa for three years, with the military, and she traveled throughout Europe. Margery owned Margie’s Bar and Restaurant for a few years and later opened the Wonderland of Fabrics store and ran it for several years in Washington. Through the Green Thumb Program with the Extension Office, she worked with children for after school program, and with Friendly Corners and the Library. Marge loved to dance and was known for the many African violets she raised. Margery married Loren Doebele at St. Augustine Catholic Church on December 15, 2007. He survives. Other survivors include daughters, Cindy (Bruce) Ayers, Eaton, CO, Blanche Graham, Washington,; step children, Donna (Darwyn) Beckman, Bremen, Sheila (Dave) Meyer, Beatrice, NE, Karen (James) Meyer, Hanover, Lisa Zerger, Charleston, SC, Jodi (Scott) Sullivan, Wamego; sister, Kathleen (Milton) Bledsoe, Washington; sisters-in-law, Shirley Ouellette, North Glen, CO, Ramona Ouellette, Washington; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, nineteen step grandchildren, and fifteen great step grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Delphis Ouellette, Emil Ouellette, Herman Ouellette, William Ouellette, Paul Ouellette; and son-in-law, Michael Graham. Memorial Fund is established to St. Augustine Catholic Church or Homestead Nursing Home. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
