Ruth R. Imhoff, 90, Washington, died February 3, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital. A funeral service was held Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Washington. Pastor Judy Hill officiated. Dr. Jim Smart sang ”Here I Am Lord” and the congregation sang “I Love to Tell the Story” and “Amazing Grace”. Pallbearers were Brent Imhoff, Darin Imhoff, Tyler Tremblay, Tim Sullivan, Melissa Sullivan, Kyle Langley and Krista Langley. Honorary pallbearers were Elmer Applegarth, Calvin Dodds, Bill Mallean, Bob Neu, Larry Ouellette and Bernard Rieth. Burial was in the Washington City Cemetery. Ruth was born January 11, 1919 at Barnes, Kansas, the Daughter of Joseph N. and Phoebe (Gano) Ricard. She was a charter member of the Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Washington. She cooked in various restaurants in Washington for several years, as well was an avid gardener. Her beautiful handiwork is displayed in her many quilts. On October 31, 1937 she married Henry Virgil Imhoff. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, infant sister Dolly Richard, Geneva Donovan and Rachel Clark; and two brothers, Ray Ricard and Warren Ricard. Survivors include two sons, Joe Imhoff and wife Barb of Dwight, IL, and Don Imhoff and wife Connie of Washington; two daughters, Debora Imhoff of Salina and Ruth Ann Zenger and husband Mike of Washington; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annabell Bierbaum of Riley and Martha Sutton of Blue Rapids; and two sisters-in-laws, Rosalie Bernasek of Washington and Lucille Ricard of Fairmont, MN.
