Marvin A. Randall Sr.

Marvin Alvah "Bud" Randall was born February 26, 1913 in Morrowville, KS and passed away February 13, 2006, at the age of 92 years, 11 months, and 13 days at the Park Manor Nursing Facility in Conroe, TX. During his early life, he worked on his uncle's farm, as a laborer on thrashing crews during harvest season, an outdoor projectionist, and carpenter. Beginning in 1934 he joined and was employed by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey. He and his wife Cordia and family traveled throughout the country until he accepted a permanent position in the Ft. Worth, TX area and eventually made his home in Azle, TX, where he retired in October 1970. He was a member of the Narka, Kansas Masonic Lodge Number 349 A.F.&A.M. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, gardening, bee keeping, dancing, and traveling with friends. He married Cordia Sue Warrick June 5, 1940. Their family was four children, stepdaughter Patricia Ann, from Cordia's previous marriage, and their three sons Marvin Jr., Harvey William, and Roger Allen. After Cordia's passing, he remarried September 17, 1975 to Ruby Irene Miller of Belleville, KS. He is survived by a brother Gerald Randall of Tucson, AZ., sister Clara Chapin and her husband Bert of Washington, KS. Also surviving son Marvin Jr. of Conroe, TX. and stepdaughters Marjorie Coonrod of Belleville, KS., Margaret Steele of Greenwood Village, CO.. In addition surviving are seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, plus seven step grandchildren, and ten step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey Jay and Harriett Altavene Randall of Washington, KS. infant sister Gladys Opal, brother Donald C., wife Cordia Sue, sons Harvey William, Roger Allen, daughter Patricia Ann Randall, and wife Ruby Irene of Belleville, KS.. Services will be held at Ward Funeral Home, February 18 at 10:30 am, with internment at Washington City Cemetery, Washington, KS.
