Otto Dale Brenneis, 84, died Tuesday, February 3, at the Washington County Hospital, Washington. A funeral service was 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 7 at St Paul Lutheran Church, Linn. Pastor Tom Sahl officiated. Anita Singulr was organist and the congregation sang “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.” Pallbearers were Jerry Hennerberg, Larry Brenneis, Jim Brenneis, Craig Brenneis, Mike Ewert and Clay Dirks. Burial was in Joy Creek Cemetery, Hollenberg, KS. Dale was born July 17, 1930 at Hollenberg to Otto W. and Clara (Howland) Brenneis. He graduated from Hollenberg High School. Dale was a lifelong farmer, starting out farming with his father near Hollenberg, and raised cattle. He enjoyed playing volleyball in his younger years and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Linn. He was a resident of Linn Community Nursing Home. Survivors include sister, Norma (Lyle) Hennerberg, Hollenberg; Alden (Helen) Brenneis, Wichita; three sisters-in-law, Tena Brenneis, Hollenberg, Gwen Brenneis, Helen Brenneis, both of Wichita; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; and brothers, Lester Brenneis, Cletus Brenneis and Fletcher Brenneis. Memorial Fund: Established to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
