Vern Larsen, 77, died Monday, January 5, 2015 at his home. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 7 at Ward Funeral Home in Washington. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 8 at Morrowville Christian Church, Morrowville. Burial: Private Burial Vern was born at Pocatello, ID on January 24, 1937 at Marius and Verna (Rogers) Larsen. He was a high school graduate and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era, being honorably discharged July 8, 1962. He worked for Hutchinson-Mayrath in Clay Center as a machinist. Vern was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Shirley, in February 9, 1991; and grandson, Dustin Norgaard. Survivors are his children, Tony (Emily) Larson, Washington, Melissa (Rich) Murray, Barnes, Jeremy Larsen, Phoenix City, AL; step-children, Jerry Hartley, Wymore, NE, Bill (Gladys) Hartley, Virginia, NE, Rita Hartley Kerns, Lincoln, NE, Rick (Valerie) Hartley, Twin Falls, ID, Dennis (Bertha) Hartley, South Dakota, Kim Hartley, Wymore, NE; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
