Marilyn Lindsley Helberg

Marilyn A. Helberg, 80, a native of Washington County, KS, passed away Sept. 19, 2013, in Colorado Springs, CO.Survived by her son, Steven (Deborah) Helberg of Rehoboth Beach, DE; sister, Linda (John) Spencer of Phoenix, AZ; uncle, Walter (Betty) Lindsley of Saint George, UT; five grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Mabel Lindsley, step-mother Aletha, daughter Nicki Lea (John) Peterman, and great grandson, Nicholas.  Marilyn was born in Morrowville, KS in 1932 and moved with her parents to North Platte, NE after her father was discharged from the Army at the end of WWII.  She graduated from North Platte Senior High School in 1949, and worked as an executive secretary and office manager until her retirement.  She was a resident of Pueblo and Pueblo West, CO since 1957 and a member of Park Hill Christian Church in Pueblo for many years.  A memorial service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, in the Montgomery& Steward Chapel in Pueblo, CO.  A second memorial service was at the Morrowville Christian Church, Morrowville, KS, 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014, before interment in Morrowville Cemetery.  Pastor Ron Brown officiated.  Sheila Ouellette was organist and played congregational hymns, "In the Garden", "My Task", "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross."In lieu of flowers, Marilyn requested donations be made to Morrowville Christian Church, 111 Elm, Morrowville, KS, 66958.  Online condolences, www.MontgomerySteward.com.
