Loren C. Wiechmann

Loren C. Wiechmann, 70, of Linn, Kan., died Friday, April 18, 2014 at his home.Visitation was Tuesday, April 22, from 2 to 8 p.m., at Ward Funeral Home in Linn.  The family received friends from 6 to 7 p.m.A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 23 at Zion Lutheran Church, Linn.  Pastor David Gruoner officiated.  Eunice Beier played the organ while the congregation sang "Amaing Grace", "I'm But a Stranger Here" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives."The pallbearers were Royce Kolle, Randy Meyer, Quentin Meyer, Brady Meyer, Cody Meyer and Brian Oldehoeft.Burial was in the church cemetery.  Loren was born February 18, 1944, near Linn to William and Ella (Dittmer) Wiechmann. He graduated from Linn High School. He worked road construction driving trucks. He also helped custom harvesting and worked for the John Deere in Clay Center. Loren enjoyed hunting coyotes. Loren was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Vernon. Survivors include his brothers, Delmer Wiechmann and Elden Wiechmann, both of Linn. A memorial fund is established to Zion Lutheran Church or the Linn American Legion.  Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, PO Box 157, Washington, Kan.  66968.
