Philip Clayton Parker, 63, Washington, died July 2, 2008 at the Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center. A graveside service was held 10:00 am Friday July 4 at the Greenleaf City Cemetery, Greenleaf, KS. Pastor John Frey officiated. Musicians were Don McClellan and Vince Parker. Casket bearers were Jon Lehman, Nicholas Lehman, Vincent Parker, Kevin Parker, Alex Parker and Jim Zedik. Philip Parker was born August 4, 1944 at Waterville to Delbert and Evelyn (Orleans) Parker. He graduated from Greenleaf High School in 1961. Philip farmed near Greenleaf and for 10 years custom combined. He worked as a welder at Hutchinson/Mayrath. Phil enjoyed hunting pheasant and deer, fishing and sports. He was united in marriage on June 26, 1962 to Carol Sue Henley at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Washington. She survives. Philip is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth. He is survived by his wife; sons, Clayton and wife Valerie of Washington and Erik and wife Pat of Manhattan; daughters, Valerie McClellan and husband Don and Victoria Parker all of Washington; brothers, Keith Parker, Marysville, Randall Parker of Alameda, Sask., Canada; and ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
