Edna Marie Clark, 96, died Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Linn Community Nursing Home, Linn. A funeral service was 10 a.m., Friday, November 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenleaf. Pastor Sonja Sandquist officiated. Arlene Miller played the organ while Jessica Thornton sang "Amazing Grace." The congregation sang "I Know Who Holds Tommorrow" and "Blessed Assurance." The pallbearers were Doug Sexton, Thad Rose, Kent Rose, Jeff Rose, Jon Rettig, Jonathan Rahe and Josh Turner. The honorary pallbearers were Bill Rencin, Ray Lindquist, Robert Harlan, Kenneth Clark and Ian Hoffman. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Barnes, KS. Edna was born July 20, 1917 in Hanover, KS, to William C. and Bertha L. (Buesig) Koch. In August 1917, she was baptized and on March 29, 1931, she was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanover. In 1930, she graduated the eighth grade from Ballard Fall School. On February 25, 1940, Edna was united in marriage to Murray A. Clark. They began farming in the Hanover area and in 1947 began to till the soil of the family farm located on the Little Blue River. Edna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenleaf, KS. She loved the outdoors, playing the piano, spending time with friends and was known for her great home cooked meals. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Murray, in 2003; adopted son, Richard Rahe; and sister, Alma L. Rose. Survivors include her adoptive family; daughter, Pat Rahe, Hanover; grandchildren, Lisa (David) Voelker, Linn, Traci (Brian) Turner, Washington, Todd (Becky) Rahe, Hanover, Crystal (Chris) Hoffman, Newton; eleven great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
