William R. Frager

William “Bill” Raymond Frager, age 87, of Morrowville, KS, died May 14 2008 in Fairbury, NE. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2008, at the Morrowville Christian Church. The Rev. Ron Brown and Doug Ingmire officiated. Bill was born on August 9, 1920 in rural Morrowville, KS, the son of Raymond R. and Grace M. (Mayberry) Frager. He attended school in Morrowville and graduated in 1938 from Morrowville High School. On September 28, 1940, he married Norma Terpening at Fairbury, NE. They were married for 62 years and had five children. In 1948, Bill started farming in Morrowville. He continued farming for over 65 years, raising cattle and hogs, corn, wheat, milo, soybeans, alfalfa, and sunflowers. His love for farming was demonstrated as he continued driving a farm truck for harvest through the age 85. At one time he had a dairy farm but also diversified in many other types of farming, including sheep, chicken, turkey, duck, fish, and even raised peach, apple, and pecan trees. As a young man he became a member of the Morrowville Christian Church, serving as an elder and later Elder Emeritus of the church. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Norma. Survivors include four sons, Gerry and wife Shirley, Terry and wife Sonja, all of Morrowville, James and wife Judy of Fairbury, NE, and Steven and wife Valerie of Lincoln, NE; one daughter, Janet Ingmire and husband Doug of Newton, KS; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eileen Cox and husband Dean of Haddam, and Virginia Mosteller, Linn; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Morrowville Christian Church and sent in care of the Ward Funeral Home of Washington. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of William R.
