Keenan Jellison-Knock, 18, of Washington, KS, died Monday, April 15, 2013. A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 20, at the Washington County High School in Washington. Rev. Lew Van DerWege officiated. Gina Miller was pianist and played "Joyful, Joyful" and "Because I Knew You." Sheila Ouellette accompanied Lauren Holtmeier as she sang "Defying Gravity." The pallbearers were Steve Knock, Rod Knock, David Winkelmann, Terry Knock, Doug Sterud and Heidi Knock. The honorary pallbearers were the 2010-13 WCHS Cheerleaders, Heather Hillert, Ashley Jorgenson, Ashley Stewary, Erin Holtmeier, Mallory Morton, Morgan Bisnette, Jessica Bryant, Lauren Holtmeier, Gabryelle Gilliam, Alani Dodd, Brittany Hubbard, Jordanna Beikman, Tiffany Hattesohl, Mandi Allerheiligen, Coach Sharon Huband and Asst. Coach Kannette Stewart. Burial was in the Washington City Cemetery. Keenan was born October 10, 1994 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He grew up and lived in Selby, SD, Healy, KS, WaKeeney, KS and Washington. He was in the 2013 Senior Class at Washington County High School and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was active in cheerleading, band, chorus, school play and Community Theater, Forensics, FBLA, FCCLA, Art Club, track and Foreign Language. In FCCLA he won state competitions in dress design and construction and qualified for Nationals his sophomore and senior years. He loved designing clothing, costumes and sets as well as music, his friends, and loved everything Wizard of OZ and Apple. Keenan worked in Waterville at Cindy’s Country Inn and, when he lived in WaKeeney, at the Christmas Shoppe. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arlys Knock and Bill and Margaret Jellison. Survivors include his parents, Randy and Sandra Jellison-Knock, Washington; boyfriend, Tyler Svoboda, Lincoln, NE; grandfather, Marvin Knock, Sioux Falls, SD; aunts and uncles, Kristi Sterud (Doug), Watertown, SD; Katherine Jellison (David Winkelmann), Millfield, OH; Rick Knock (Sheila), Yankton, SD, Steve Knock (Lugene), Sioux Falls, SD, Terry Knock (Cindi), Loveland, CO, Dan Knock (Brenda), Guilford, VT, Rod Knock (Jen), Sioux Falls, SD, Heidi Knock (Jack Ennis), Avon, IN; and many cousins and friends. A Fine Arts Scholarship in Keenan’s name has been established. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
