Roland G Houting

Roland G. Houting, 77, died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Haddam. A graveside funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 15 at Mt. Pleasant Hill Cemetery, west of Washington. Rev. Randy Jellison-Knock officiated. Roland was born on September 1, 1935, at Hollend, Michigan, to Gerald and Miriam (VanDeRiet) Houting. He worked in electronics doing television repair. On December 22, 1975 he was united in marriage to Nora Pauline Walmer at Oskaloosa, Kansas. Roland was honorably discharged from the Army. He enjoyed reading the bible. Survivors include his wife, Nora of Haddam; and a sister, Sally Jean Cohen of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial fund is established to the United Methodist Church of Haddam. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
