DELBERT H. MEYER, age 83 of Linn, Kansas, died Monday, September 26, 2005 at the Linn Community Nursing Home. Delbert, the son of Fred and Sarah Bisping Meyer, was born September 5, 1922 at Linn, Kansas. He attended school at Linn. Delbert was a lifelong area farmer. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Linn, where he served as an elder was a former school board member of Zion Lutheran School. He was a former member of the Linn township board, Linn Booster Club, Pony Express Campers and Cedar Hills Golf Course. Delbert was united in marriage to Ruth D. Steuber on April 27, 1947 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Sylvan Grove, Kansas. To this union 5 children were born. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Orvel Meyer. He is survived by his wife Ruth of Linn, Kansas; two sons, Randall Meyer and wife Vicki of Washington, Kansas and Daniel Meyer and wife Jane of Linn, Kansas; three daughters, Karen Klewein and husband Jeff of Acworth, Georgia, Delores Meyer and Debra Meyer both of Lawrence, Kansas; also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held, Friday, September 30, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn with Rev. David Gruoner officiating. Interment will be held at the church cemetery. A memorial has been established. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 29, 2005 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ward Funeral Home in Linn, Kansas. Organist for the service was Eunice Beier and soloist was Cheryl Waterman. Casket bearers were Jared Klewein, Kent Klewein, Matthew Meyer, Eric Meyer, Gregory Meyer, Benjamin Meyer and Tim Reith.
