Leslie Ryser

Leslie “Ted” Ryser, 97, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 at Crete, Neb. Leslie was born April 12, 1910, at Haddam, Kan., the son of Frank and Pearl (Graham) Ryser. He was the fourth of thirteen children. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thurs., Feb. 7, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Washington. Burial was in the Hawks Cemetery, east of Cuba, Kan. On September 30, 1936, he was united in marriage to Bessie Cibolski at Belleville. He farmed near Haddam and then northeast of Washington until he retired. He was preceded in death by his wife Bessie on Jan. 11, 2006; parents; an infant daughter; eight brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Lila Mullen and husband Bud, Wilbur, NE, Carole Gutzmer, Lincoln, NE; three sons, Howard and wife Kay, Grove, OK, Edd and wife Connie, Kansas City, MO, and Jim and wife Vicki, Hanover, KS; thirteen grandchildren, Debbie Holcomb, Cindy Mullen, Jody Mullen, Kory Mullen, Denise Gutzmer, Tania Glaser, Kim Ryser, Leslie Mullen, Damon Gutzmer, Todd Gutzmer, Shannon Ryser, Payton Ryser, and Preston Ryser; twenty-two great-grandchildren, Sheena Hagen, Dara Hagen, Joshua Geckles, Jana Geckles, Nicholas Baumfalk, Kimberly Baumfalk, Kristofer Baumfalk, Angela Holcomb, Amy Holcomb, Amarillo Mullen, Shandi Gutzmer, Matthew Gutzmer, Joshua Gutzmer, Hannah Gutzmer, Gracie Gutzmer, Everett Gutzmer, Preston Ryser, Joey Ryser, Olivia Glaser, Emily Glaser, Ava Glaser and Noah Ryser; and one great-great grandchild. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
