BLAINE WELLS WASHINGTON – Blaine Leslie Wells, 82, died Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Washington County Hospital. He was born in Morrowville, KS on October 15, 1922 the son of Harry R. and Lillie O. (Green) Wells. Blaine was an educator in Mahaska, Clifton and Washington, KS. He also was a Boy Scout Leader, a member of the Lions Club and member of the United Methodist Church. On September 26, 1943 he married Lora Pauline Bolejack of Barnes, at the United Methodist Church in Washington. They were blessed with five children. Blaine was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lyle and Guy Wells; and sisters, Opal Wells and OreBelle Prellwitz. He is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Pauline; sons, Don Wells and wife Karen, Washington, David Wells and wife Judy, Russell, KS; daughters, Laura Soash and husband Richard, Wichita, KS, Susie Brun and husband Jeff, Meriden, KS, Elizabeth Wagoner and husband Ron, Derby, KS; brother Dale Wells and wife Marjorie, Washington; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral service was held Monday, March 21, 2005 at the United Methodist Church. Pastor Phil Morris officiated. Organist was Sheila Ouellette and Dr. James Smart was the soloist. Burial was in the Washington City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Tim Wells, Tom Wells, Todd Wells, Jeff Wilson, Brad McCormick and Andy Petesch. A memorial fund was established in Blaine Wells name to the Boy Scouts or the United Methodist Church.
