MARY “PEG” YUNGEBERG WASHINGTON- Mary Margaret (Peg) Yungeberg, 76, Washington, died Monday, August 1, 2005 at her home in Washington. She was born November 21, 1928 in Blue Rapids to Charles D. and Margaret (Wells) Jenkins. Peg was the great granddaughter of John D. Wells, one of the first settlers of Marshall County. She married Gilbert O Yungeberg on June 15, 1946 at Irving. Mrs. Yungeberg recently retired as Director of Washington County Senior Citizens where she had served for the past 27 years. She was also employed by USDA, Farmers Home Administration and the Washington County Health Department. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gilbert O. Yungeberg on December 5, 1988; a brother, Charles D. Jenkins Jr.; sisters, Betty A Wanamaker and R. Natalie Persell. Peg is survived by son, Charles G. Yungeberg and wife Brenda, Salina; daughter Mary (Midge) Miller and husband Gene, Washington; sister, Jeanette Fincham and husband Gene, Blue Rapids; Sister in law, Virginia Jenkins, Blue Rapids; grandsons, Jamie Yungeberg and wife Caroline, Washington, Chris Yungeberg and wife Misty, Salina and John Yungeberg, Wichita; and great grandchildren Eric, Jordan, Colten, Tessa, Paris and Gavven Yungeberg. Funeral Service was held at the Ward Funeral Home, Washington, Thursday, August 4, 2005 at 2:00 pm. Rev, Marilyn Wullschleger officiated. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Blue Rapids.
